Position Summary: The Anthropology Program at USU seeks a Professional Practice Assistant Professor who can teach introductory and advanced on-line and face-to-face courses in cultural anthropology as well as develop and supervise undergraduate practicum experiences. This is an, 9-month, full-time, term appointment with a 4-4 teaching load (including practicum courses) beginning August 1, 2019. We seek applicants whose engaged teaching and scholarship is evidenced by a strong record of teaching (both face-to-face and on-line) and integration of their community-engaged research with teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the program by developing and teaching both introductory and upper-division on-line courses and face-to-face courses as well as developing and supervising undergraduate practica experiences. Responsibilities: This role will be 90% teaching and 10% service. Topic and area specialization is open. Special consideration will be given to candidates whose research and teaching interests complement current program offerings in the areas of Environmental Change, Community Engagement, and/or Wellness.
Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Anthropology from a CHEA accredited institution or international equivalent. 2. Demonstrated face-to-face and on-line course development and teaching experience.
Demonstrated potential for developing and supervising undergraduate practica experiences in cultural anthropology.
Demonstrated ability to live and work legally in the U.S. 5. The successful candidate must be able to satisfactorily complete a background check prior to employment.
Evidence of successful experience in community-engaged practicum development and supervision
